Is online learning effective for kindergarten children?

To talk about the advantages of online learning that we have witnessed

Many adults have questioned whether online learning will work for our little ones, but now it’s been a month since we switched to online learning, we can say with certainty that online learning works for younger students.

Of course, it is difficult to say that it is as effective as teaching in a real classroom, but here we want to talk about the advantages of online learning that we have witnessed firsthand. Research has found that there are many benefits to kindergarten children learning online, and we are noticing these benefits in our children too.

1) Routine: We try to develop a routine for the students when they come to our school. It is very important for children to still have a routine they follow at home when they are not coming to school. As parents too, we know how difficult it is to have a routine for kids when they are home all day so the online class can help you to develop an evening routine for your kids based around their phone call and lesson time.

2) Social interaction: When children are at home all day during lockdown, they are craving to have fun and play with their friends. Although they can’t play with their friends, they are able to see and talk to them which has them looking forward to their next class when they can see their friends again. This also helps to reinforce their routine.

3) Develop confidence and independence: Since all of the material that the kids are learning are a continuation of what they were learning in class, they are not missing out on their overall development. This allows them to retain their English skills so they will not have to start from the beginning again when school re-opens. It is also an opportunity for the children to show off their abilities in front of their parents. If they were a little shy at first, their confidence has been building so that they can participate more online which will translate to even more confidence in person.

4) New technological skills: Because many students are learning on a laptop or desktop computer, they are learning how some of the tools work. They are learning how to use a mouse, a touchpad, a keyboard, and some of the functions within the Zoom program. These skills will help them to be able to learn technology, and use devices for more than just swiping through videos on YouTube.

Although they are developing these skills, they still need help from their parents. You are all doing a great job in helping your child learn during these times, and they will benefit greatly from their continuing education and your involvement in it.
We continue to work to create content that is more effective and interactive for younger students. If we adults open their hearts to online classes and cooperate, our children will be able to continue their learning without interruption through new learning methods.

Comments

Actually, I didn’t know when I had to take an online class, but when I couldn’t do it, I realized that online classes aren’t bad as long as the teacher’s ability is good.
